Employee Assistance Program
What is an employee assistance program?
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is both an educational and preventional program. Is is also a confidential counseling and referral service available as a benefit to employees and their dependents.
What kinds of problems are covered?
Any personal problem causing an employee stress can be referred to the EAP. This would include depressiona, work relationship problems, financial prblems, legal issues, alcohol./drug abuse and addiction problems, parenting issues, gamling, marital, family, etc.
How do you make an appointment?
Appointments are scheduled directly by calling (906) 225-3145 or (800) 644-4948 or (800) 562-9753, ext. 3145.
How much does it cost?
Consultatio ns with the EAP Counselor are paid by a contract with the employer. Any service received from the EAP is without charge to the employee. If additional referrals are needed-to a psychiatrist, special counselor, physician, etc., these costs are the responsibility of the client although health insurance may cover a share or the cost.
Who is eligible?
All employees and their dependents.
